State Chancellery supports local authorities to launch cooperation with the Association of Local Democracy Agencies

The State Chancellery encourages the local government to examine the cooperation opportunities with the Association of Local Democracy Agencies and provides the informational support needed to initiate cooperation.

The Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA) is a non-governmental organization established in 1999 at the initiative of the Council of Europe's Congress of Local and Regional Authorities in order to promote the good governance and cooperation between local authorities and civil society. ALDA projects in particular focus on activities related to human rights, citizen participation at the local level, decentralization etc. ALDA also provides administrative and technical support to local agencies and represents its members in the negotiations with donor organization, in particular with the Council of Europe.

ALDA members are: municipalities, provinces, Associations of Local Authorities, NGOs and other organizations. Additional information about this organization and the projects carried out can be accessed on www.alda-europe.eu.
